A whole nation with a mindset of resilience, optimism, and survival – and all of that communicated with just one word? Yes, the Icelandic word REDDAST is all of that and more.
I had the opportunity to share devotions at The Masters Institute this morning, the seminary in Minnesota that I graduated from back in 2008. I decided to share some points of a book that I have started to write, a book that is based on the Icelandic word REDDAST and the mindset behind that.
How fun then to see this morning that BBC published a nice article on that word! Quoting:

Or, when there’s a volcanic eruption that disrupts flights all over the world and leaves a bunch of people stranded in Iceland, you need to think on your feet and figure out what to do.

It’s difficult in Iceland not to feel your insignificance against the elements.
